Junior Committee - J-SPI

The suicide rate among adolescents and young adults has tripled over the last 60 years, making suicide the second major cause of death among college students and the third major cause of death among those aged 15-24 in the United States today.

Suicide is increasingly an issue of importance for younger generations. J-SPI, SPIís Junior Committee, is a committee of young people who are addressing this problem. J-SPI gives an opportunity to those who want to make a difference in preventing youth suicide. J-SPI holds social events for young people that help raise awareness of the problem of youth suicide, reduce stigma associated with suicide, and help raise funds to support SPIís suicide prevention initiatives.
